Sound Map was launched at Tate Modern, during Uniqlo Tate Lates on the 30th June 2017. The launch took the form of a workshop, where visitors were invited to listen to each piece and consider what they heard. These reflections were written on postcards and displayed next to the map, with coloured tape connecting reflections to the corresponding colour on the map.
Hundreds of postcards were filled out, and we’re in the process of reading through them all and pulling out common themes, stories and other insights that our audience provided. The event was an exciting first step for our ongoing collaboration in language mapping, communication borders and listening to the incomprehensible, and we will be posting the feedback from this workshop soon. We look forward to sharing the next stage of our research into global communications, attitudes and assumptions, listening and the voice on this site in the near future.
